In early 2009, Verizon Wireless overtook AT&T as the biggest U.S. wireless carrier with its $28.1 billion acquisition of Alltel bringing their total subscribers to more than 80 million. This well-planned acquisition has done great things for Verizon: increased revenue, favorable treatment by equipment vendors, potential exclusivity from cellphone makers, and conceivably cheaper pricing on certain phone models.
Business owners can learn a lot from companies like Verizon – acquisitions, exit product planning, product launch, and R&D.
Not to mention that their commercials are catchy as heck.
Plus, Verizon Wireless understands effective and helpful customer service.
