Good Idea: Community Service Organizations Should Work Together
November 20th, 2009 by Jon Speer
I attended a Martinsville Rotary Club lunch the other day. The guest speaker happened to be from the Martinsville Lions Club. While he wasn’t there to talk about the Lions, he did present a great idea:
What if the Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, and other service organizations worked together to promote and educate the community about service organizations?
I think this is a fantastic idea. Imagine taking it one step further:
What if a community’s service organizations worked together to have a major fund-raising event?
Each of these organizations is geared around philanthropy and charitable works. But each operates in a vacuum. If they were to all collaborate, couldn’t their efforts have more impact on the local community?
