MWDG Meets Again in January
2007 was a great year for the Biomedical Midwest Discussion Group. From the initial meeting in March through our year end gathering in November, MWDG experienced growth and a presence in Indiana’s budding life science community. We are poised for 2008 to be a great year, full of exciting, pertinent discussions. MWDG strives to reinvent ourselves as needed to support the desires of the attendees.
I’m excited about the proposed topics for 2008, which include:
- Supplier Development (tentatively for January & February)
- Start-Ups (tentatively March)
- Quality Toolbox (tentatively April & May)
- Audit Tools & Auditing (tentatively June & July)
Other possible topics of interest (so far):
- Product Requirements for Submission
- Management Roles & Responsibilities
- HIPAA / SOX Compliance
- ISO / ICH / GHTF QS Standards
- Design Controls
- Professional Skill Set
The approach in 2008 will continue to build upon the discussion format but with an added twist. Each session will be prepared by a team. The team members will not be from the same company in order to provide a more holistic view.
The next meeting is January 31, 2008 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm, and as always, will incorporate ample time for networking. The location is at the University of Indianapolis’s Schwitzer Student Center (room #005). Parking is free on campus after 5:00pm. Cost to attend is $10, which includes a wonderful catered meal (make checks out to ASQ Biomedical Division). As noted above, the January topic is Supplier Development and will include outsourcing, negotiating contracts, supplier development, among others.
Be sure to contact me by January 28, 2008 if you plan to attend.
