How do I know that someone won’t steal my ideas?
We will make every effort to ensure the confidentiality of ideas entered. However, others must see, read and understand the ideas in order for them to be judged. Our interest is to help spur entrepreneurship in Morgan County. We are not interested in stealing your ideas; rather, we are interested in helping bring your ideas to reality. Unfortunately, US law prohibits us offering more than the assurances above, as “ideas” cannot be protected according to US law. If you are truly afraid that someone will steal your ideas, you can trademark names or register domain names associated with your submission and/or consult with a patent attorney.
I have a class project that I would like to develop into a submission. Is that OK?
Yes. We encourage you to submit class projects. However, please be aware that you will probably take a good deal of effort to craft an idea entry from a class project, because you must translate the project onto the entry form.
I can’t describe my idea in space provided on the entry form. Can I make it longer?
Yes. If necessary, you can email additional information to info@creoquality.com.
Can I enter more than 1 business idea?
Yes. However, you must complete separate entry forms for each idea.
Are there programs I can take advantage of after the competition has ended?
Yes. Creo Quality and Waldon IT Solutions can help you with valuable connections and resources to help you.
If I’m one of the winners, do I have to use the prize money on my Big Idea?
Yes. While we realize Big Ideas prize money is likely not enough to get your business completely off the ground and running, you must use the funds to support your Big Idea. Again, if you need guidance and advice on where to allocate funds, we are willing to help mentor and advise you.
