Until a few weeks ago, I had never broken a bone. And then it happened. Only, it wasn’t one of mine but the arm of my taekwondo instructor’s. Now he has a rigid cast that goes from his wrist to above his elbow. I haven’t asked him about his bathing routines, but I’m sure he probably has to put a plastic bag over him arm when showering. Plus, he has very limited mobility and use of his arm. Needless to say, I feel terrible even though it was unintentional.
I just read about a new splint / cast product from Exos. Their solution is waterproof, breathable, and adjustable. The product allows a person to resume fairly normal activities–even athletics. Read more at MedGadget.
