I remember the good ol’ days growing up when our family trekked on vacations. All of these adventures were by vehicle. My parents would get maps from AAA and rely on the Rand McNally atlas to determine the routes we would take. The destination was clear and well understood by everyone in our family. The strategy to get there was too: avoid major cities during rush hour, travel at night for reduced traffic and hopes the kids would sleep, avoid road construction, and so on. Despite the best laid plans, we often encountered issues that required course adjustments and modifying plans.
I view strategy in the same vein as my family vacations. Determine your destination. Map out the routes to get there. Course adjust as necessary.
