Baxter has a new antimicrobial IV connector called the V-Link. The product contains VitalShield silver coating and claims to be effective against MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter cloacae. The product also has FDA clearance for three additional pathogens: vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (coagulase negative).
