July MWDG Thoughts

The July 26, 2007 Midwest Discussion Group meeting went well. We continue to have a variety of expertise and company types represented–all working with some aspect of the biomedical industry.

The CAPA discussion was really great! People opened up and shared their experiences. One great comment came from Dane: “Maybe we should change to PACA so that people will focus on preventative actions first.” I think this is brilliant!

The July meeting served as a wonderful conclusion to MWDG’s CAPA series. Thanks again to Oxygen Education for hosting. The plan is to author some sort of whitepaper or report from the CAPA discussions.

So what’s next? The August meeting will be exciting for several reasons:

  1. MWDG moves to a new (and hopefully permanent) home at the University of Indianapolis. Here is a campus map and driving directions. The meeting will be in the Schwitzer Student Center.
  2. Summer vaction season should be over and we anticipate a great crowd. MWDG’s distribution list is at 80+. Each meeting draws a few new faces.
  3. MWDG will start discussion on a new topic: Risk Management. Please submit sub-topics ideas to me.

Mark your calendars now. MWDG will meet August 30, 2007 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. 5:30 – ~6:00 pm will be for networking. Meeting agenda, over, logistics, etc. will take a few minutes. Risk management discussion will begin ~6:15 pm.
